Dr. David Butts

Dr. David Butts grew up on a dairy, row crop and fruit farm in the small, central-Michigan town of Grand Blanc. From his earliest memories he always knew he would become a veterinarian and be involved in animal husbandry and care.

Dr. Dave graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in the spring of 1974. He moved immediately to Cass County and has practiced at the Dowagiac Animal Hospital for thirty-nine years. Although he originally practiced veterinary medicine with mixed farm animals and exotic pets, he recently changed to a small animals exclusively.

Dr. Dave and his wife, Cathy, have two adult children. Their son is living in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and their daughter resides in Australia. His personal interests are gardening, tree farming, and bee keeping. He also enjoys wilderness canoeing and hiking.
